Carin and Andy planned a trip for all four of us to go to Macau on August 2.

The majority of the population came from Canton; Macau is called Ou Mun in Cantonese.
There are many temples built by the Cantonese settlers while the Portuguese who came in the 1550 built a lot of churches. These different religions co-existed for hundreds of years.

In Ou Mun, there are lots of bakeries and eateries; Chinese like to bring food as a gift when visiting friends.

Ou Mun is also known to have nice hotels and big casinos. We stayed at Hotel Venice where the scenery resembles the real Venice in Italy. We could pretend to be in the real city of Venice.

It was a fun trip especially to be able to enjoy time together with our daughter and son-in-law.
